kate nash szerintem kurva jó arc lehet:
i went to the protest outside the bank of england yesterday.
it was incredible.
it made me feel so happy to be with people who cared about things they have a problem with and to be there shouting about it and making a stand.
i know there have been a lot of reports from media about the fighting, the "violence" and the tear gas/riot police/anarchists etc.
but to be completely honest there was only one time i felt threatened the whole day and that was by the police, when they tried to block off a part of the march that had only just started and was just people walking and demonstrating and speaking and expressing their free minds. i respect the fact that the police want to have control and to stop things from getting crazy but i think actions like that provokes chaos from angry people. however... inside the barricade was full of demonstrators, banners, musicians, soundsystems, poetry, dancing...it felt like a festival but it was more important than that. people were there to talk politics and to show that they wanted the world to change and that they want their politicians and government to make just and right decisions. politics affect all of our lives and during this recession it's thrust into all of our faces directly whether we experience that ourselves, through our friends, our parents or by picking up the papers everyday. capitalism has failed us as we knew it would. time for a change.
