Ieperfest News Update 5 April 2004
Here's the first announcement of bands that will play at Ieperfest 2004. The list is not as complete as we would want it to be yet. Negotiations with a bunch of bands are still going on, so as soon as more names are confirmed, we can add those to the bill. So far it doesn't look bad at all and if we could add some of the names that are still in the pipeline, the bill will certainly prove to be the best one to date!

Young bands can still participate in the Ieperfest contest taking place at Frontline, Gent on 5 May 2004. Read below for more info!
There is no pre-sale yet! We didn't do any the last couple of years so I'm not sure if we will do it this year.
As a part of the non-musical leg of this year's festival, we will be organising a meeting for vegans from all over the world. Each year tons of vegan kids that live kilometres/miles away from each other come down to Ieper for the festival. Since all of those likeminded people are present on one and the same spot during the weekend, we thought it would be an excellent idea to create some sort of hangout. You know, a chance to talk about all that matters to vegans, sharing experiences, trying to learn from each other, etc. All suggestions of how we could make this work in the best possible way are welcome, so do not hesitate to get in touch on this matter.
Please note that we do not want to create some sort of "better than thou" elite. We're all equal and the festival definitely is not a vegan or veggie only thing!

We have a huge list of bands that wanna play the fest so unless you maybe wanna participate in the contest, there will be no more room for Ieperfest 2004 so there is no need to contact us for that reason. Life is hard.

Ieperfest News Update 20 March 2004
Europe's leading Open Air hardcore fest is now offering the chance to young/starting bands to participate in a contest in order to make it to the Ieperfest bill on Fri/Sat/Sun 27/28/29 August. The contest will take place on Wednesday 5 May 2004 at the Frontline club in Gent (Overpoortstraat).
How to get on the bill? All active bands that haven't played at Ieperfest before can send a mail to contest@pyrrhus.be with their band name, contact info & reason of participation. If more info is needed, we will get back to you. 5 or 6 bands will be selected and invited to play a 20 minute set at the contest on 5 May. It will be an excellent chance to play at a well-promoted show in front of an excited audience. Each visitor will get the chance to vote for one of the bands playing. Whoever gets most votes, makes it to the Ieperfest bill. Plain & simple. Running order of the bands will be picked at random. | |
