Textbook Music, a new record label formed by Sean Rhorer (Invisible Youth PR) and Andrea Goonan (United Edge Records), has been launched. According to the label, they "will serve as an outlet for release spanning the spectrum of musical styles and will place innovation and creativity at the core of operation." To coincide with their launch, Textbook has announced the signing of both Marigold and Renee Heartfelt. Marigold, featuring former members of This Day Forward, among other bands, will enter the studio with J. Robbins (The Promise Ring) in July to record their debut, which should be available late this year. Meanwhile, Renee Heartfelt (featuring former members of Count Me Out, Striking Distance, etc.) will announce details regarding their new album in the near future.
Agoraphobic Nosebleed's discography will finally be available this summer. Tentatively entitled "Bestial Machinery: The Collected ANb Discography Volume 1," the release will include their "30 song 7" / demo," out of print vinyl splits with Cattle Press, Laceration, and Enemy Soil, in addition to a host unreleased material. Artwork is being handled by Florian Bertmer, who did artwork for the ANb and Converge split. Look for the discography to hit stores on July 19th via Relapse Records.
Maryland's xLooking Forwardx have officially signed with Facedown Records for the release of their next album. The group has previously put out material with DFF Records and Blood And Ink Records. This August they will enter Trax East studios to record the as-of-yet untitled album, which should hit streets in November.
According to the "New York Post", Candiria have been awarded the sum of $29 million dollars in a New York court this week. Here's the unedited piece from the aforementioned publication:
"Five members of a Brooklyn-based rock band won a $29 million verdict yesterday for injuries they suffered when a truck hit their tour van. The members of Candiria were hurt as they traveled to a gig in Cleveland on Sept. 9, 2002, when a tractor trailer owned by Paige Transportation Inc. hit them near Buffalo, said attorney Daniel O'Toole. The crash sent their van rolling over five to seven times, and all the members received injuries, attorneys for the band members said The band still performs, but two injured members left. --Todd Venezia"
As a result, the band can now expect pretty much everyone they've ever played a show with or talked to be contacting them and sucking up right about now.
Bear Vs Shark are now plotting a June 14th release date through Equal Vision for their new album "Terrorhawk".
Biohazard are now planning an August 30th release date through SPV for their new album "Means To An End".
Every Time I Die are eyeing a tentative July 12th release date through Ferret for their new album "Gutter Phenomenon".
Doomriders (Converge, There Were Wires, Cast Iron Hike) have aligned themselves with Magic Bullet for the vinyl edition of their upcoming debut effort "Black Thunder", which is due out this summer. The CD version will still see a release through Deathwish Inc.. Dates for a trek with Forensics are currently being firmed up.
Hewhocorrupts Inc. has signed Holy Roman Empire. The label describes the band as drawing influence from "Sunny Day Real Estate, Quicksand, Failure, Seaweed, Foo Fighters, and Texas Is The Reason to chisel out a sound that's all its own."
The band includes guitarist Neeraj Kane (Suicide File), guitarist Jay Jancetic (ex-Arma Angelus), bassist Geoff Reu (ex-Killing Tree) and drummer Tony Tintari (ex-Shai Hulud). Rounding out the line up is vocalist Emily Schambra (currently of Longdistancerunner),
The band plans to record a debut six song EP in May with a July release expected.
State Of Mind has signed Wait In Vain (ex-Trial). The band will head into the studio some time this coming June to record their debut full-length for the label. They will then head out across the US with the Warriors. Dates for that tour should be posted soon.
Ensign has posted a handful of new demos from their upcoming full length Lost Message on a Fading Frequency. Besides the track "Warning Shots" which was posted in January, the band has three additional tracks available for the record, which is due to be released on |
