na, hát ez a banda már rég topikotérdemelt volna, kezdésnek egy nem túl vidám hír:

XOXO Records is coordinating a benefit show for Frank Piegaro on June 4, 2005 at the Wayne Firehouse located in Wayne, New Jersey. All the profits from this event will be donated to Frank Piegaro for the staggering amount of medical bills he has accumulated over the years for his extremely rare, potentially life threatening blood disease, Xanthoma Disseminatum. Despite working full time up until recently, he lacks medical insurance which has led him to accumulate over $10,000 in medical bills. The Wayne Firehouse has been kind enough to donate their facility for our use for this event. The Wayne Firehouse has been accommodating shows in New Jersey for many years to bands like Alkaline Trio, Hot Water Music, At The Drive In and Jimmy Eat World. Our sound engineer for the event will be Jon Hiltz who was in the legendary hardcore band Born Against. He has been a sound engineer for 13+ years for many major venues in NJ, PA, and NYC.

Our confirmed lineup for this event is Hot Cross, Zombie Apocalypse, Fanshen, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, The Ratchets, Nora, Tim Barry (Avail), Ensign, For The Love Of..., God Forbid, and Bigwig.

We are also holding raffles with merchandise and gift certificates donated to us by Eyeball Records, Chunksaah Records, Asian man Records, XOXO Records, One Day Savior Records, Curmedgeon Music, Triple Crown Records, Trustkill Records, Insound.com, and many more.
This event will start at 2PM and the entrance fee will be $15.

Here is a little background information on Frank Piegaro:

Like something straight out of a fairytale, Frank Piegaro’s parents were playing the lead roles of Sandy and Danny in Grease on Broadway when they fell in love. After their whirlwind romance, his mother gave birth to a healthy baby boy on October 21, 1977. During Frank’s early childhood years, he spent time touring with his parents as they pursued their musical careers. After his parents settled down, Frank Piegaro grew up with his parents and his younger sister in New Jersey. He experienced the typical childhood and adolescence that the majority of us are familiar with. The normalcy in his life came to a crashing halt when he noticed some irregularities on his skin in February of 1999 . Immediately, he took multiple visits to various doctors, fruitlessly hoping for an explanation or a diagnosis as the condition of his skin rapidly grew worse. It was not until he visited a distinguished dermatologist in 2001 that he got a diagnosis - Xanthoma Disseminatum. Unfortunately, instead of feeling relieved finally having a diagnosis came feelings of more despair. Xanthoma Disseminatum was a rare disease that little research had been done on and no treatment seemed to be available at the time. Desperate for an answer or a cure, Frank Piegaro resorted to experimental treatments which later exacerbated his condition. Finally, in December of 2004 he visited the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Minnesota where he was given some hope. After undergoing two weeks of testing, the physicians told Frank that they may have a treatment for his condition. They recommended him to undergo chemotherapy to alleviate or even cure his disease. With the recommendation came the fact that only one other individual had undergone this treatment and had success with it. He is currently undergoing intense treatments of chemotherapy and is patiently waiting for the best.

Despite this experience being physically, emotionally, and mentally draining, Frank Piegaro has had a positive outlook on his life. Having music in his blood, he has been an active member of the New Jersey music scene for many years. He has played in bands like Missing Children, Fanshen, the Degenerics and Ensign just to name a few; he is also currently recording a solo album with XOXO Records. He has played many shows and toured with bands such as Rancid, Thursday, and Avail.
Because of his musical background, XOXO Records found it appropriate to have a benefit concert in order to aid him.
