  • Poison The Well will be wrapping up their album in November and it is said to be released early 2007. On a side not - the band is no longer with Atlantic Records and it is said they will be signing with a larger indie soon.
  • Saosin have finally firmed up a release date for their massively anticipated major-label debut. The album, which is still without a title, will hit stores Oct. 17 via Capitol Records. The guys are currently recording with Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, Head Automatica).

  • Louisiana's As Cities Burn have announced their impending break-up. Formed in 2002, the group was a member of the Solid State Records roster.

    Korn cancel European dates after blood ailment diagnosis


    Korn's Jonathan Davis - pictured with rapper Snoop Dogg - has been diagnosed with a rare blood ailment. As a direct result, the band will not immediately honour their European touring commitments, but return to the US so that the singer can rest up.

    The band employed a series of guest singers for their Download set at the weekend (see yesterday's news item). Davis' illness is thought so serious, though, that he must rest for a good few weeks, and therefore the band have decided to cancel their European tour. All dates will be rescheduled as soon as possible.

    Korn are due to play on the Family Values tour in the States, which kicks off on July 27. It is hoped that Davis will have recovered by then. Other bands on the tour include Stone Sour, Fly Leaf and Deftones.

    IGOR CAVALERA LEAVES SEPULTURA | 12.06.2006


    In a press release sent today to the press, Iggor Cavalera makes official his departure from SEPULTURA.

    Iggor says he decided to leave the band because of "musical incompatibility" with the other members of the band. Iggor will be working on other projects from now on.

    Brazilian drummer Jean Dolabella (ex-Udora) will take his place for the upcoming tour dates.

    Drummer and co- founder of the Brazilian biggest heavy metal band claims outworn and incompatibility of thoughts with the remaining band members, and signalizes new projects.

    One of the founders of the Brazilian biggest heavy metal band, Iggor Cavalera, announces that he is leaving Sepultura. Cavalera, drummer and musician claims outworn and incompatibility of thoughts with the remaining band members, and signalizes new projects.

    “A lot of reasons made me take this important decision in my life and I would like to share it with everybody. I believe my mission in Sepultura has come to an end. I am very proud of all we have done, but nowadays I feel that the band formation no longer lives up to my expectations. Since my last European tour in 2004, I have noticed that my ideas didn’t match with the others.”, asserts Iggor.

    Since 1985, Sepultura has putted out ten world wide releases (“Bestial Devastation”, 1985; “Morbid Visions”, 1986; “Schizophrenia”, 1987; “Beneath the Remains”, 1989; “Arise”, 1991; “Roots”, 1996; “Against”, 1998; “Nation”, 2001 “Roorback”, 2003 e Dante XXI, 2006), that sold millions of copies. The band reached it’s peak in 1996, with the release of the album “Roots” which represented a musical swerve in the heavy metal scene, introducing new experiences as tribal percussions and the work with the Brazilian Indian tribe, Xavantes. However, after the album release and the world tour of “Roots”, guitarist, singer and Iggor’s brother, Max Cavalera, left the band to continue his solo career. Sepultura continued their works and success with a new singer, Derrick Green.

    Apart from touring since 2005, when he was substituted by Roy Mayorga, Iggor noticed that his personal ambitions where worlds apart from the rest of the band and slightly detached from the creative process of Sepultura. “Many years of work in group, made the relationship get outworn and I feel that there isn’t compatibility of thoughts and ideas between the rest of the band and me. I tried to make this clear and suggested that we should take a break. However their priority was to continue playing in despite of my permanence”, says Iggor.

    As a drummer and musician, Iggor persists and look forward to new references to produce something authentic and real, which may represent what Sepultura was once in his life. Lately the musician researches a contemporary view of the heavy metal scene, looking for different influences such as hip hop, hardcore, tribal percussions and electronic music. According to Iggor, the decision of leaving Sepultura was one of the most difficult in his career, once that, as founder of the band, he dedicated most of his life to it.

    “I would like to immeasurably thank all of the fans which supported me and continue encouraging our music. And also to everyone who had worked to make Sepultura exist.”

  • Canadian promoter Sellout Enterprises has announced that ground breaking post-hardcore act Grade will be reuniting for one show only July 21 at the Opera House in Toronto. The band, led by vocalist Kyle Bishop, broke up in 2002 and formed Somehow Hollow, The Black Maria and others. The lineup for the show will feature the band's Under The Radar lineup, which is made up of Bishop, Greg Taylor, Matt Jones, Shawn Magill and Chris Danner.

    A Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg megyei Rendőr-főkapitányság emberölés kísérletének megalapozott gyanújával vett őrizetbe egy 44 éves nyíregyházi férfit.
    A rendelkezésre álló adatok szerint a gyanúsított pénteken este a lépcsőházban ittas állapotban ordítozni kezdett a társasház közös képviselőjével, aki nyílászáró-cserével kapcsolatban járta végig a lakásokat.
    A férfi azt üvöltötte, hogy senki se írjon alá semmit, mert becsapnak mindenkit, majd összeverekedett a közös képviselővel. A lakók szétválasztották őket, a gyanúsított ekkor egy 5 cm pengehosszúságú blankolókéssel többször megszúrta a sértettet. A hangoskodásra megjelent a képviselő 24 éves fia is, akit a késelő szintén mellkason szúrt.
    A fiú súlyos, 48 éves apja könnyű sérüléseket szenvedett. A feltételezett elkövető dolga végeztével bement lakásába, ahonnan a rendőrök megbilincselve hozták ki. A gyanúsított vonakodott a járőrökkel menni, azt mondta, még meginna egy sört.

    intro on the Cold World "Ice Grillz" ep? According to Dave Foster,
    former bass player, Cold World drummer Nick Woj ran into Jim Jones
    at the hotel he worked at. Nick told Jones that he had a college
    radio show called "Cold World" and asked him to do a promo for the
    show. Jim agreed and did it there on the spot, and, to quote Dave,
    "That's the story about that."

    60. éves az olasz Vespa robogó

    A világszerte ismert, az Olaszországgal és a fiatalsággal azonosított Vespa robogó 60. születésnapját ünnepelték csütörtökön Rómában. A robogó tiszteletére múzeumot építenek – jelentette a Reuters hírügynökség.

    A robogót gyártó Piaggio csoport bejelentette, hogy egy éven belül megnyitják a múzeumot, ahol helyet kap a cég minden kétkerekű gyártmánya élükön a Vespa 98-as modellel. A robogót 1953-ban Audrey Hepburn és Gregory Peck tette halhatatlanná a „Római vakáció" című filmben.

    Az egyszerű és szépjármű egyébként is népszerű volt Olaszországban. Tíz év alatt egymillió darabot adtak el belőle. Az összes eladott Vespa modellek számát a Piaggio 17 millió darabra teszi.

    We've had a lot of great times and played a lot of really amazing shows but the time has come for us to let go of what we have, it's time to move on.
    Sorry to anyone that's bummed out about this.

    Were playing three more shows - April 27th with BOLD and Joe Coffee (Patronaat, Haarlem, NL), May 6th with Fearless Vampire Killers, Betrayed and almost every cool Dutch hc band around right now (Bolwerk, Sneek, NL) and our final show will be at the Light the Fuse fest on sunday the 28th of May (Metropool, Hengelo, NL).
    We'll put every effort into making those shows worthwhile so we can only hope you kids will too.

    A one-sided 'farewell' 7" is in the works and hopefully it will be ready in time for our last show. Ever. It will be come out on Not Just Words, who will also release our discography CD in the near future.

    We are and will always be STRAIGHT EDGE and we all will continue to other do bands. Check them out:
